I have mentioned this website in my Website Evaluations as well as My Favorite Websites, but I want to stress this site even more. Vocabulary.com is the BEST website of 2013 in my humble opinion. Whether you are a student, teacher, parent, or simply someone wishing to increase their vocabulary, this website is for you. Vocabulary.com keeps track of the user's vocabulary knowledge, creatively working to increase their vocabulary. Teachers of any subject can create vocabulary lists pertaining to their subject so students can grasp a greater understanding of what the teacher is teaching. If nothing else, all high school students must take the SAT/ACT to attend college, and vocabulary words are a major portion of those exams. Using Vocabulary.com encourages a higher success rate for these exams.
From an English teacher's standpoint, I love the idea of reading a novel in class and creating a list of vocabulary words from the novel so students can increase their vocabulary and understand what they are reading in more depth.
